The traditional German company Käthe Kruse opened her first factory in Berlin in 1911. It started in 1905 when Käthe Kruse tried to make a doll for her daughter out of a towel, sand and a potato.
Käthe Kruse was a pioneer back then. The Käthe Kruse company now belongs to the Hape company. Even today, the company strives to continue the legacy of its founder. Today, the company still follows its founder's vision by producing handmade dolls.
